Kevin got involved through his Young Life leader named “Flash” in 1988, and in Young Life “lights came on” with faith in Jesus.

He attended Calvin University in Grand Rapids, Michigan, became a volunteer leader, and met Michelle. Over time there was a recognized pull for both Kevin and Michelle of a life given over to Jesus by serving teenagers. After leading Young Life for seven years, coaching sports, and working in the school, Kevin and Michelle (now married) moved to Costa Rica in 1999 with Young Life where they continued to learn about being a family on mission. Their four children were born in Costa Rica.

Kevin considers it a true honor to have been able to serve in many different capacities alongside faithful brothers and sisters in Latin America and the Caribbean, from area director to regional director, overseeing new country starts, the La Finca camp build-out, and participating in the startup of 41&Change Coffee.

Kevin serves as the senior vice president for Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as, leading with Young Life Universities International, Developing Global Leaders (DGL) and liaison to Young of Life Canada.

Kevin, Michelle, and one of their sons live in Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic.
